Travelling to
Campbeltown from Glasgow and beyond, can be by
car, bus, boat or plane.
Car
By car, it takes just under 3 hours to get to
Campbeltown from the centre of Glasgow.
Follow the A82 past Dumbarton and round
beautiful Loch Lomond, the up through the Rest
and be Thankful enjoying breathtaking views
before heading onto Inveraray. Follow the road
round Loch Fyne through Lochgilphead and
Ardrishaig before arriving at the lovely village
of Tarbert - the gateway to the Kintyre
peninsula. With only a short distance to go,
relax and enjoy your drive down the stunning
west coast of Kintyre. On route, looking out
over the Atlantic Ocean, you will see the
islands of Gigha, Cara, Jura and Islay and if it
is really clear the coast of Northern Ireland.
Car Share
As there will be over 200 people travelling to
Campbeltown from outside Argyll, we want to make
it as easy for you as possible to minimise your
cost, and the environmental impact of all that

Bus
Alternatively, West Coast Motors and Scottish
Citylink offer a 3 times daily coach service
from Glasgow - timetable available from their
website here.
Boat
Plans are again underway to re-open the ferry
route from Ballycastle in Northern Ireland to
Campbeltown but will now be 2007 at the
earliest.
Kintyre Express now offer the first regular
passenger service from Troon to Campbeltown with
two sailings per day every Monday, Wednesday and
Friday. Travel the 32 mile sea passage in style,
